Introduction
The Su Voz project, funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Consumer Affairs, and Agenda 2030, will be implemented between October 2024 and October 2025. This initiative aims to contribute to the elimination of female genital mutilation and forced marriages, practices that violate the rights of women and girls.
Values and Approach
From its design to its execution, Su Voz integrates values such as:
- Sustainability: Promoting eco-friendly printing and responsible digitalization.
- Innovation: Utilizing creative and educational tools to raise awareness.
- Survivor Leadership: Survivors are at the forefront of the project’s design and implementation.
Key Actions
The main activities of the project include:
- Podcast: Producing six episodes that educate from a cultural and empathetic perspective.
- Documentary: Sharing real-life stories that emotionally connect and highlight women’s resilience.
- Interactive Map: Providing accessible information on the prevalence of these practices worldwide.
- Audiovisual Campaigns: Designed to mobilize both communities and key professionals.
Expected Outcomes
Through Su Voz, we aim to achieve:
- Increased Social Awareness: Ensuring more people in Spain understand the impact of female genital mutilation and forced marriages, reducing stigma and fostering dialogue.
- Strengthened Professional Capacities: Equipping health, education, media, and shelter professionals with tools to identify, address, and prevent these practices.
- Active Participation of Affected Communities: Creating spaces where survivors lead narratives and act as agents of change within their communities.
- Progress Toward Sustainable Development Goals: Contributing to the elimination of harmful practices (SDG 5.3), reducing inequalities (SDG 10), and fostering strategic alliances (SDG 17).
Theory of Change
The Su Voz project operates on the premise that sustainable change happens when:
- Those most affected by these issues lead the solutions, ensuring culturally relevant and authentic responses.
- Key professionals receive adequate training, enhancing their capacity to act as allies in prevention and support.
- Society as a whole has access to empathetic, data-driven information, fostering understanding and reducing discrimination.
With this approach, we aim not only to raise awareness about these practices but also to change attitudes and behaviors, enabling communities, institutions, and professionals to work together to eliminate female genital mutilation and forced marriages.
Contribution to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals
Su Voz makes a significant contribution to the following goals:
- Goal 5.3: Eliminate harmful practices such as female genital mutilation and forced marriages.
- Goal 12.5: Minimize environmental impact through digitalization and the use of recycled paper.
- Goal 17.16: Build alliances among governments, organizations, and communities to address these issues.
Transformative Communication Ecosystem
This project embraces an innovative approach that not only drives social change but does so in a conscious and sustainable manner. Each initiative, from graphic design to digital distribution, is carefully crafted to create positive impact and build bridges toward a more just and equitable world.
